Public Relations Projects

I have been blessed with the opportunity to conduct work for various of organizations. Here are a few of the work I've done.

Know Your News LB Campaign

Know Your News LB was a month long campaign that sought to inform the public about news literacy and create awareness about the client, News Literacy Project (NLP), a nonpartisan, nonprofit, educational organization that aims to create news literacy tools and resources. The campaign, Know Your News LB, raised awareness of the importance of news literacy and brought NLP’s news literacy tools to Long Beach, California.
 
For this campaign, my role was the Director of Research and Events.  I conducted the primary and  secondary research to strategize and set realistic goals for our messaging to be relevant and compelling to our target audience. I oversaw the data collection  of our primary research and analysis of the secondary research, and based on them, I recommended to the team on what needs to be done. On top of this, I handled the coordination of our several events and classrooms teachings. This includes the scheduling, obtaining vendors, venues, gathering participants, collaborators, and guest speakers. On top of this, I assisted with media design, media outreach and writing essential PR materials such as the  backgrounder, press release, and writing an op-ed about our campaign and misinformation that got published.
 
Know Your News LB was a part of the 2023 Bateman Case Studies Competition hosted by the Public Relations Student Society of America. The Bateman Case Study Competition is PRSSA’s premier national case study competition for public relations students and gives us an opportunity to apply our classroom education and internship experiences to create and implement a full public relations campaign for an actual client.

CSULB Shark Lab

My job was to create awareness of the Shark Lab, a shark conservation and research lab at Cal State Long Beach, and position them as the leading pioneer in research, education, and conservation of marine animals using a variety of multimedia content. They also have a specific message they want to get across which is coexisting with the sharks. The goal is to teach the public to not fear sharks, see the economic value in them, and respect their space.

The Africa Channel

Precious Life Shelter

Precious Life Shelter is a nonprofit organization that provides housing and resources to expecting mothers. My team and I devised a communication plan to help them prepare for certain scenarios.
